What Does this mean for North Carolina?
Due to the damage brought to the Carolinas by Hurricane Ian, an Emergency Special Enrollment Period has been granted to North Carolina Medicare Members (who have not already picked a policy for 2023) - extending the deadline to December 31st 2022 to be able to make one of the following changes or enroll in:
**If you drop your Medicare Advantage plan and return to Original Medicare, you can enroll in a stand-alone Medicare prescription drug plan during this period**
- Sign up for a Medicare Advantage plan
- Switch Medicare Advantage plans
- Drop your Medicare Advantage plan and return to Original Medicare (Part A and B)
- Sign up for a stand-alone Medicare Part D prescription drug plan
- Switch Medicare prescription drug plans
- Drop your Medicare prescription drug plan
**If you drop your Medicare Advantage plan and return to Original Medicare, you can enroll in a stand-alone Medicare prescription drug plan during this period**
